Are you using splash pages or squeeze pages to advertise? If you’re not I’ll bet your results are less than stellar in the traffic exchanges that you advertise in.

What’s that? You say you “are” using a splash page but it’s not doing so hot either?

Well, here are a few questions I have for you about the splash pages you are using…

Are you using the same program provided splash pages that everyone else are using? If there are hundreds (or worse, thousands) of other people promoting the same pages as you are promoting, how will you stand out from the crowd?

How old are they? Like all advertising, you need to freshen your ad campaign from time to time. Even great splash pages need to be changed and swapped out occassionally. Just like commercials on TV and radio are changed periodically, you need to change your splash pages too. That’s because after a while people get use to them and tune them out.

Have you tried tweaking the text, colors, images, etc? Not all splash pages are created equal. There are good ones and bad ones, just as there are commercials that work and those that don’t work so well. And, sometimes just changing a word or a color can make all the difference to the response you get.

Tweaking splash pages successfully will require that You test your splash pages to see what works and what doesn’t work… which means you will need a good tracker to track your results. The key thing to remember when tweaking is to change only one element at a time and then test.

If you change more than one thing at a time you won’t know what resulted in the change in response (good or bad). Both are important to know. The bad so you can remove it and avoid repeating it in the future. The good so you can duplicate it in the future.

It was quite entertainingly to read the guesses of the good citizens of RoyalSurf. I’m not sure why so many citizens concentrated their guesses along the East Coast, but those guesses were way off base. Not a single soul guessed thy king’s birthplace… not even the state thy king was born in.

There were two citizens who guessed the day of birth and six others who were all within one day, making them tied for third place.

Ties were broken based on who guessed a birth location closest to the actual birthplace. The closest among these was 692 miles off, whereas most guesses were off on average, more than 950 miles.

Every traffic exchange, in order to work effectively, depends on each member’s cooperative participation. This means that if you want and expect others to pay attention to your advertising, you owe them the same courtesy in return.

You cannot simply surf and surf, ignoring everything you see, seeking only to gain traffic for yourself and expect others to behave differently.

If you are the type of person who surfs and never pays attention to what you’re viewing… who never signs up for or purchases anything… you are doing a disservice to other traffic exchange members, and a disservice to yourself too.

To gain the full benefit of using a traffic exchange, it is necessary to pay attention to and learn from what others are doing at a traffic exchange. You can improve your own results by paying attention to what others are advertising, how they are advertising, and what tools they are utilizing.

You should be watching for what catches your eye… what grabs your attention… what tempts you to or actually gets you to join or purchase. Take ideas from the use of titles, colors, and wording and use these in ways to improve your own advertising.

Please don’t plagiarize the exact usage but use things to perfect and test new ideas of your own that can greatly improve the reaction you get to your own advertising.

Try to be objective in your observations too. For instance, don’t automatically discount something being used by someone else simply because you don’t like it personally. A good example of this is audio.

Often, traffic exchange members express that they don’t like audio. Some even say they won’t purchase or signup for anything that starts audio automatically. However, it’s been proven time and time again, that simply adding an appropriate audio to a splash page or squeeze page, often greatly increases the conversion rate (number of sales or signups) of that page.

If you know that fact, as an advertiser, would you worry more about the few people that won’t like your advertisement because it has audio on it or the many more who will respond to it? Your answer had better be the later of the two or you might as well give up.

And finally, watch for products and services that might help you improve your own results, or that might offer more opportunity than what you’re promoting now. Don’t be constantly jumping from one thing to another, but be watchful of trends and changes in the industry. Watch for things that might stimulate ideas of your own.

And, be on the lookout for the better “mouse trap” — paying attention might help you pickup on when things are shifting or when a new idea is first being introduced. Sometimes, your timing and ability to recognize such things can make a significant difference to your financial success.

Keep in mind that if you want to change your success online using traffic exchanges it begins with you. You have to stop being passive, just letting things happen to you. You need to take an active part in making your success happen.

Just throwing a web page out there and driving traffic to it isn’t going to do it.  You need to learn how to get the most out of the traffic you drive to those pages.  How to make those pages convert to signups or sales.  You need to learn about list building.  You need to track and perfect your results.

There are many people who are successfully marketing on traffic exchanges… making six-figure incomes… are you?

Are you making more than you’re spending?

How long have you been doing that?

If you aren’t making money and you’ve been at it for 6 months or more, perhaps it’s time to start listening to those who are.

I know it’s cliché but it’s also very true… its time to stop doing the same old thing you’ve always done and expecting a different result.

Remember, opportunity may knock but it’s not going to walk into your house, setup shop, establish customers for you, and deliver cash to your bank account all on its own.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Calling ALL Citizens!

Join the new Joust Tournament for fun, excitement, camaraderie, and great traffic riches! There are no qualifications other than ye must be a citizen (member) of RoyalSurf Traffic Exchange. Every citizen regardless of level or title may participate. Be ye Royal Citizen, Royal Squire, or Royal Knight, or thy title be “Citizen,” “Lady,” or “Sir” — ALL are welcome to compete!

There shall be but five citizens to each team so the forming should be without challenge (easy). Ye may join a team that hath not yet reached 5 members or form thy own team.

Each team may pick a team leader and team name of their own choosing. I trust the naming of thy teams will bring honor to its members and the kingdom.

Use thy own criteria for the forming of thy teams of whom can join ye, but thy king asks that ye be respectful to all. If ye hath specific selection criteria, do express it clearly.

If sufficient numbers of teams hath formed in time, this new Joust Tournament shall begin on the coming of this Sunday, October 26, at 12:01 am Central time, commencing immediately upon server turnover. Otherwise, it shall be postponed until the next week. Thy king will announce whether the Joust is a go or not by no later than Saturday, October 25th.
