Our Great $500 Gas Giveaway is one contest that EVERY citizen can qualify to win. This is so easy that every citizen should have several entries by time we reach the end of our contest. Come one now… who can’t use $200 in free gas? Your king wants to help you and your family, but you can’t win if you don’t participate, right?

Oh and please, let’s not have any citizens in this grand kingdom who say “I never win!”  That’s a self-fulfilling prophecy that you actually can make happen because when you believe that nonsense then you simply stop trying. If you don’t try, sure you can’t fail but you can’t win either. Actually, come to think of it, if you don’t try you already have failed. Folks, this applies to anything worth pursuing in life. If you don’t try then you’ve already failed.

At RoyalSurf, if you don’t win prizes every single week then you either aren’t surfing or you aren’t paying attention when you surf. We literally give away hundreds and hundreds of prizes every day! If you ain’t winning you ain’t trying.

I hear some of our citizens saying that they are trying to get referrals but nothing they try is working. I’m sure this doesn’t apply to you because I know you know what they are doing wrong. Don’t you?

Sad thing is, if anyone is having trouble getting referrals for a program that’s free to join, and which is also giving away free gas, they are probably having trouble making money online too.

Rather than getting on my soapbox again to beat the “you must use splash pages” drum again, I’m going to give you a real example of what one of your fellow citizens did right here at RoyalSurf.

In just 5 days, this member went from having ZERO qualified referrals for our contest to having EIGHT and she took over the lead in our gas giveaway contest as far as referral entries go.

How you ask? Simple. She created her own unique splash page with the most pertinent details of our contest, to include the incentives offered for them to join. And, it worked like bees drawn to honey. Was it the most beautiful splash page I’ve ever seen? Honestly, not even close, but it worked and that is all that matters!

She also left nothing to chance. She made sure she had her photo and Sponsor’s Greeting filled in at RoyalSurf and once they joined, she contacted each of them and offered them her own incentive to fully activate. A recent mention in Jon Olson’s HitExchange News, has made me realize that perhaps a lot of people think it’s strange that an advertising service, especially one based on medieval times such as RoyalSurf manual traffic exchange is, would give away free gas.  It certainly is true that it’s quite an impossible stretch to keep such a promotion within the theme of RoyalSurf.  The reason for this particular promotion is simply timing and interest level.  I mean, right now, who isn’t talking about the quickly rising price of gasoline and the huge bite it’s taking out of our budgets.  It’s a hot topic of discussion and pretty much has captured the attention of the whole world.

To my thinking, this makes giving away free gasoline the perfect way to reach out beyond the bounds of typical traffic exchange promotions to bring in fresh new members.  It’s a way to help our current members reach people who might not typically be able to reach, rather than just gathering new members from all the other traffic exchanges that exist. 

This is also a HUGE opportunity for our members who are wise enough to take advantage of the great features we have provided them.  Most specifically, the ability to add your photo and personalized greetings that each of your own referrals will see whenever they login.

 With this promotional contest people are motivated to login and to surf, to qualify for our free gas giveaway and to win the tons of daily prizes we are giving away, including cash and other cool merchandise from the Royal Shoppe. That means your referrals will be logging in more frequently. Please, please use the personalized Sponsor’s Greeting and Sponsor’s Note to your advantage.

The Sponsor’s Greeting is a great place to introduce yourself and encourage your referral to fully activate their account, and to offer your friendship and help. Invite them to join you in the Royal Sign Post (our chat area) when they surf… but then of course you need to be there sometimes so they can find you.

The Sponsor’s Note is the perfect place to continually communicate with the people you sponsor and encourage them to contact you via email, phone, or our Private Message (PM) system, based on your own comfort level. This is the perfect place to establish profitable relationships and friendships. It’s also a great place to offer a free giveaway item so that you can get your referrals on your own list. Afterall, you put in effort to get them to join so why not present them opportunities to join your list? 

And don’t forget, changing your Sponsor’s Note frequently will make it more effective. Otherwise the people you sponsor will get use to seeing the same thing all the time and they’ll tune it out.

This is an awesome feature that is lost opportunity if you don’t use it.

I want to quickly mention some other great resources too that fall along the lines of building your lists and establishing relationships that can be profitable and work for you too.  If you aren’t already using these resources you should be. Jon Olson’s ILoveHits Profile Pages are an excellent way to further expand your reach on the Internet and I highly encourage you to put them to good use. I think you’ll find what he’s implemented goes well beyond mere Profile Pages.

Another great addition is Cindy Battye’s introduction of social networking to TrafficBunnies, with great features that I can’t even beging to do justice to by describing here. She calls this great service TB Connect and I’m sure it’s only going to get better… and it’s pretty awesome now!

Finally, a resource that a lot of people rave about, is Robert Puddy’s Advertising Know How List Builder. Unfortunately, like all of the features I’ve mentioned here, it is under-utilized by the very people it can help most.

Sorry folks, but regardless of all the hype you continue to hear, the things that will really help you achieve success require effort on your part to learn, setup, and maintain.

People do make money, lots of it, on the Internet, but don’t be fooled into believing that they didn’t put in work to get it started.

People do get results from the traffic exchanges but they use them the right way in a manner that serves them.

So where are you in all of this? Are you using the resources being provided to you to their fullest potential? Do you take the time to learn how to use traffic exchanges in an effective manner. Or, do you do like so many do and just surf till you drop and then walk away saying that traffic exchanges don’t work?

I am about to do something that I have never attempted before. I recently was afforded the honor of being asked to be a launch partner for a brand new traffic exchange. So I am going to review it for you here, and invite you to join me as a member on this brand new and exciting exchange.

The Traffic House just launched on 08 July 2008 at 5 p.m. Eastern U.S. time. The owner is Joakim Andreassen. I met Joakim in the SWAT Traffic room several weeks ago, and have been very fascinated by his determination and drive to give surfers something innovative to use in their online advertising. I have helped him with a couple of the details in setting up his exchange, and have been thrilled to see him doing everything the right way his first time out of the chute. I am impressed with his insight and his ability to grasp what will work. I have seen many other new exchange owners “wing it”. But Joakim has nailed this down beautifully.

The first thing that I want to point out to you is that Joakim has come up with a very unique way for us to earn credits while surfing at The Traffic House. There is actually a “floor plan” that includes several different rooms in the “house”. As one moves from room to room, one earns a different surfing credit ratio for each room. The “dynamic surfing ratio” has never been done in this manner before, and adds some excitement to the the process of surfing. You can actually see a copy of the floor plan in the member’s area, so you know in advance what you will get during the time you spend in a room. There are no surprises here, just good solid surfing and lots of fun.

The site has a fresh new look, and the images on the surfbar are great! You will be able to see on the surfbar what room you are in as you surf and, of course, the amount you earn per page view in that room will show above the timer when it finishes.

This traffic exchange is on the most popular LJ script, with lots of modifications to suit what Joakim had in mind when he set out to develop the exchange. As far as I am concerned, this one’s a “keeper”. So don’t wait - go join The Traffic House right now:
