Without a doubt, getting traffic to a website is of utmost importance to your business growth and development, not to mention sales! In short, until you get people coming to your site, your purpose will not be served and money won’t flow into your accounts. I.E. you will not be able to make money as you won’t be getting business.

The bottom line is thus: If any website is not getting the required number of qualified visitors its way, it means that the website lacks for something. And this something is generally visibility.

You see, users are not able to get the website when they are looking for its products and services. What should be done in such a situation? In such a situation webmasters need to increase the visibility of their website.

How to Increase Website Visibility

There are a number of ways in which you can get free website traffic to your site. This includes several techniques such as search engine optimization (SEO), often in combination of any of the following: link building, article writing and submission, social bookmarking, social media marketing, article submission and directory submission services. In each of these methods the main aim to promote the website. Links are exchanged between two or more websites so that free flow of traffic can be got from these sites. Advertisements in the form of banner ads projecting the main offers of the website along with its benefits can do wonders for any business. If the website has more online presence its visibility will surely increase.

Many SEO experts believe that having informative content in a website can bring in lot of traffic. The content should not be an assembly of information arranged in a haphazard manner, but it should be presented in a way so that the user gets all information that they are looking for. Keywords that highlight many services or products should also be used several times in the content which acts as a tool of SEO. Marketers lay stress on the fact that users should get what they want or else they will not come back to the website. In such a case you will lose your repeat customers.

Though there are many ways in which you can get traffic to your website some may cost you some money too. There are plenty of other ways in which you can bring in traffic to your website without having to spend any money. The traffic generation remains the same and the benefits derived are many.

That’s all for now. Happy surfing!

To your success,

    Michael:

After reading your article, How to get Free Website Traffic, I thought I’d throw in my two-cents worth on this topic, mainly because it seems like more and more marketers keep coming-up with new ways of getting traffic constantly – of course, some being much better and more reliable than others.

One of my very first reliable and consistent ways I found to grab some (not only free, but also some very targeted) traffic is to visit forums and post a comment on one of the topics you have some knowledge on.

There are literally thousands of forums on the internet; consequently, it isn’t very likely that you can’t find at least one discussion group concerning a topic you at least know a little something about.

You don’t have to be an expert on the subject, but you can just let people know that you have at least some degree of understanding of their experience, or try to let them know you’ve walked in their shoes.

I’ve found that using a tactful “been there – done that” works quite well to start a dialogue of issues. Perhaps you can offer a quick or simple solution to a problem being analyzed, or some type of useful information along with your contact information.

I encourage them to call or email me. During some months, I might get 30 leads or more from one forum – during other months, I might only get only 10, but it almost always evens out. The more of a newbie they are, the better.

I don’t mean that in such a way as I’m going to take advantage of them, but the less they know about a particular topic, the more I can help them and the more receptive they will be in accepting any offers of help I give them. Sometimes, you can meet some really nice folks, but then on other occassions, they’ve even taught me a thing or two!

I belong to several forums, but I have one that easily produces 15 – 20 leads per month. It doesn’t sound like much, but it doesn’t have to be. Those leads are highly targeted and you don’t need to have the usual 7 meetings for contact to get them to trust you. They already feel as though they know you and you can easily convert them into a sale within 3 to 4 visits or less.

Educational or occupational forums and/or those offering basic online materials and/or tools can also be good places to find those prospects wanting to solve internet-marketing, e-commerce or home-based business problems.

A lot of times the person who responded might not have a problem, but they probably know someone who does, so they pass around the word for you and suddenly you find yourself as a mentor. That’s not a bad place to find yourself in – especially just for harvesting free leads with only a minimal amount of effort.

I only have to post to the forums I use about once every other month, or if leads slow down too much I’ll start making posts more often. That usually takes care of any slow periods. Social-networking sites can also be a rich source of leads, but I’m not quite as skillful at using those yet.

That brings up an idea, Michael. Maybe you can fill us in on that and make a blog post on how to use social-networking sites for generating free leads? I’ll have to keep an eye for that!
