Are Surfers Making Traffic Exchanges Boring?

A sure way to lull surfers into “not” paying attention to the sites they view, is to show them too little variety.

When traffic exchanges first began they were primarily used by people who owned their own websites, so there were very few duplicate sites and great variety.  As exchanges became more popular to the masses of people promoting affiliate programs, variety was quickly replaced with duplication and boredom.

Flat out, looking at hundreds of the same advertising messages over and over again causes people to lose interest.

Television, radio, newspaper and magazine advertisers all get this but it seems few members of traffic exchanges do.  I’m sure you’ve noticed that the ads you read, hear and/or see are periodically changed to grab and keep the advertiser’s message in your mind.

Most companies don’t have thousands of other people advertising their products for them so, while you may see or hear their advertising message over and over, you rarely see or hear them back to back, and their messages are usually intermixed with other things that hold interest.

A huge contributor to people not paying attention to the sites rotating in an exchange is that the members are lazy with their advertising.  The most frequent thing done by the majority of people using traffic exchanges is to use the same company provided affiliate pages that hundreds of other people are also using.

Fact is, many traffic exchange members contribute to their own poor results by not taking the time to make sure their advertising message is unique and stands out from the crowd.

Some members further contribute to their failure by not properly observing who their target audience is, and then trying to meet their wants or needs.  This frequently results in people advertising things that are doomed to failure from the start because few exchange members are interested in what they are offering.

Don’t be lazy with your advertising.  Make sure your message stands out, grabs attention, and is unique, and then keep it fresh in the minds of your audience by changing it frequently.

It is time to take responsibility for your results and that means learning and putting to action those things that make a difference.  If you want to change your results, STOP advertising the same affiliate pages that everyone else.  Either take the time to make your own splash pages or lead capture pages, or hire it done.  There are lots of great services that will make them for you, and plenty of online services that let you do it yourself as simple as 1, 2, 3.

By doing so you will have done your part to keep variety in the exchanges you use and the more people who do this will ultimately end with better results for everyone.

Are YOU making traffic exchanges boring?
